There’s a new Gotham-based series coming to The CW, which means there’s room for a new Batman. The series is called Gotham Knightswhich ironically is the same title as the upcoming DC Comics video game. Gotham Knights, the series will be very different from the game other than one key detail – Batman is dead. But this does not mean that it is permanent. The series has already cast a supernatural alum with Misha Collins playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face, and it looks like another actor from that series wants to join the show. Jensen Ackles recently revealed his desire to join the series as Bruce Wayne/Batman, which fits right in as the actor has previously voiced the character in recent animated films. Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 and 2. An Instagram artist has an idea of what the actor could look like in the role, and they recently revealed their interpretation of Ackles as Batman.
The Instagram artist who handles Clements.ink has revealed how they think Jensen Ackles can look like Batman and that the outfit is pretty cool by CW standards. The outfit is all black and has a large bat symbol similar to that of Ben Affleck Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice And Justice League Zack Snyder, but the cowl is to die for. The latest version of Batman was played by Robert Pattinson and it definitely made waves. The movie was three hours long and director Matt Reeves made his version of Gotham City as dark as you imagine the location was meant to be. One key moment in Batman, at the beginning of the movie where Batman smacks a group of thugs in face paint, and utters the phrase “I’m getting revenge.” Fans will notice that the phrase is very different from Christian Bale or Michael Keaton using the infamous “I’m Batman” phrase, and it turns out that’s what Reeves wanted. In a new interview with KCRW, the director explains why his movie used “I’m Vengeance” instead of “I’m Batman.”
“For me, the arc from the beginning, when I’m thinking about the story, is going from a self-proclaimed place, which doesn’t come from some of the comics, and from the animated series, this idea of saying, ‘No, I’m Batman,’ which obviously represents a line Keaton is the main one in Burton, but I’m “on revenge,” Reeves told KCRW. “And that this was due to his personal anger and this primal feeling he was having, that’s really just a throbbing and trying to make sense of his life, so he’s not really self-aware. That’s one of the things, too, about the music and the sound of this scene. It’s kind of building in such a way that you can feel the rage and his heart is pounding, thumping, thumping, and then you can feel the intent of the sound and the intent of the music at the end of that scene, and even visually, the sense of adrenaline is finally starting to subside.”
